Deer Tree Planting Tips

-  Plant trees 25 FT apart. Full sun, South facing, well drained soil, away from wood line, never under the tree canopy.
-  Plant based on drop time. Think about your setup and location. Key: always have fruit hitting the ground late August through March. Box pattern groupings off a inside corner with thoughts of wind  / stand location is essential. Call me with questions to get the full potential out of your deer trees.
-  Create Deer Tree Pods:  Create a box planting of 4 - 5  trees. Plant 1 -  Dolgo Seedling in this group for pollination.
-  Always fence and protect the bottom with aluminum window screen 3 FT high / 3 FT tree wrap / tree guard from mice and voles. When 12-15 FT in height, prune and screen 4 ft high around trunk and base.
